Camera and Image Usage

FoodSeek requires access to your device's camera to capture food images for analysis. These images are processed to identify dishes and provide recipe information. Images may be temporarily stored on your device and our servers for the purpose of recipe identification and analysis.

Food Analysis

When you take a picture of food, FoodSeek uses artificial intelligence to analyze the image and identify the dish. The app provides detailed information including dish name, nutritional data (calories, protein, fat, carbs), ingredients, preparation steps, and cooking time. This analysis is performed using Azure OpenAI services and may involve sending your images to these services for processing.

How We Use Your Information

  • Identify food dishes and provide recipe information from your images.
  • Calculate and display nutritional information for identified recipes.
  • Find and suggest relevant cooking videos from YouTube.
  • Save your recipe history for easy access.
  • Improve our food recognition algorithms and recipe database.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Your data may be shared in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We use Azure OpenAI for image analysis and YouTube API for video recommendations.
  • Firebase services: We store recipe data in Firebase to enable saving and accessing your recipe history.
  • Legal compliance: If required by law or to protect our rights.

Where We Store Your Information

Food images and recipe data are stored securely using Firebase cloud services. Images are temporarily stored during the analysis process and may be saved as part of your recipe history if you choose to save recipes. We implement technical measures to protect your data from unauthorized access.
